Jets receiver Robby Anderson faces nine charges after arrest

Jets receiver Robby Anderson

New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson was arrested early Friday morning and faces nine charges, including reckless driving, eluding police, resisting arrest and harm to a public servant or family, USA TODAY Sports confirmed through Broward (Fla.) County jail records

The New York Jets said in a statement that the team is "aware of the situation" and looking into it.

The NFL is also aware of the situation and league spokesman Brian McCarthy said “we will be looking into this matter.”

The Associated Press said a Sunrise police report shows Anderson was stopped early Friday in a sport utility vehicle after it ran two red lights and was swerving while traveling about 105 mph in a 45 mph zone.

After he was stopped, police say he made threats about the officer's family and then boasted about how much money he has.

This is the second arrest for the 24-year-old Anderson in the last eight months. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., resident was arrested last May at a music festival in Miami Beach. He was charged with resisting arrest with violence. He's still awaiting trial for that arrest, which is scheduled for March 19.

Anderson, an undrafted free agent out of Temple, was a major catalyst for the Jets in 2017, leading the team with 941 receiving yards.
