INDIANAPOLIS -- If you are heading to the Indiana State Fair and want to stay on your diet and eat healthy, there is good news for you. You can.

Data shows fair food can range up to 1,300 calories and 60 grams of fat for every serving.

Katie Hake, an IU Health Dietitian says you need to be mindful of your choices.

"Walk around first, don't pick the first thing. I think at first view you think 'oh my gosh I can only get deep fried, high fat, high-calorie type food,'" Hake said. "That's really not the case, there are a lot of options."

Hake also says sharing a sweet treat with others or not going to the fair hungry can help.
